Thanks to all of our writers and readers
It takes courage to say what you mean and even more
courage to write it. We here at the News feel proud that so many gutsy,
thoughtful, opinionated people live in our town. And we feel grateful
that many of those people write down their thoughts and send them to us.
Below is a list of 331 villagers who contributed letters, reviews and
essays to the News in 2006.
The community forum, or letters to the editor
page, is the heart of this paper. It’s where many people turn first
each week when they open the News, eager to see their friends and neighbors
weigh in on the latest controversy, tell about something that happened,
or just express an opinion. Some contributors write angry letters, some
passionate, some sweet, some funny. But the writers all share one thing
in common — they care about our small town. Perhaps that caring
is what draws us back to these pages.
We want to thank all the letter writers listed below.
We also want to thank those who submitted news, gave us ideas and who
