Carol Mulford
Carol Louise Mulford, mother of Ann Kent and
grandmother of Thomas and Caroline Kent of Yellow Springs, passed away
peacefully in the presence of family in Rochester, N. Y., on May 24. She
was 91.
Carol graduated from Syracuse University, was employed
as a buyer, married and raised children Ann, Peter, Sharon and John.
Carol’s life was one of significant community
service. She was an ordained elder and trustee at Third Presbyterian Church,
a member of the boards of education for the BOCES and Brighton school
districts and an active member and past president of the Women’s
Council of Rochester Institute of Technology. Her life reflected a strong
theme of giving back to the community she lived in and her volunteer and
leadership skills were respected by many. She was a woman of grace, whose
wisdom and desire to serve will live on in the memories of all who knew
her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years,
Frederick S. Mulford. She leaves behind four children, nine grandchildren
and three great grandchildren who are and will be very proud of her fine
legacy.
Ray Schiff memorial set
A memorial service will be held for Ray Schiff on Sunday,
June 7, beginning 1 p.m., at the Glen Helen Building. Schiff died on Feb.
10. He was a long time Yellow Springs resident, having come here in 1957
to work at YSI.
