OBITUARIES Frances Shaw Frances L. Shaw of Yellow Springs died Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Friends Care Center. She was 83. She was born in Xenia on Jan. 5, 1925, the daughter of Luther Smith and Anna Beatrice (Stivers) Hill. Frances was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Xenia and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies include genealogy in which she traced her family back to the late 1700s. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John T. Shaw; son, John L. Shaw; brothers, Earl, Ralph, and Garnet Hill. Frances is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ritchey; grandchildren, David Ritchey and Karen Edwards; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, and Allan Edwards, all of El Paso, Texas. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions are requested to be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association. The event will occur Sunday, Dec. 14, 3–5 p.m., in the Westminster Hall of the First Presbyterian Church. Guests are invited to share anecdotes and other memories in her honor.
