Smoking
grass, prairie style
Miami Township Fire-Rescue volunteer Chris Kitts helped control
the prairie burn in the field off Grinnell Road by the covered bridge
on Friday, Oct. 31, to kill off invasive species that threaten the
health of the indigenous prairie grasses. The burn was not completed
due to wet conditions, and will be resumed at a future date.
