OBITUARIES
Eileen Flomerfelt
Eileen Flomerfelt, 89, of Xenia, died on Christmas Day at the Greene
Oaks Health Center where she had resided since 2004. She was born Dec.
4, 1918, in Xenia, the daughter of Ernest and Oma (Earley) Beatty.
Eileen attended both Muskingum and Wittenburg University. She had been
a teller at the Citizens National Bank and was a member of the Faith
Community Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Theron E. “Sed”
Flomerfelt, and her sister, Eloise Walker.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Carol Ann and Philip
Gaiser of Miamisburg, Susan and Kevin Davis of Newark, and Stephen and
Marie Flomerfelt of Marion, Ohio; grandchildren and their spouses, Eric
and Samantha Gilmore of Miamisburg, Jeremy and Rebekah Davis of Reynoldsburg,
Kristin Davis and Alicia Davis, both of Newark, Scott and Tracy Flomerfelt
of Dayton, and Laura and Jody Reece of Huron, Ohio; great-grandchildren,
Aiden and Nolan Flomerfelt, and one on the way; a sister, Marilynn Birch
of Yellow Springs; an uncle, A.J. Earley of Xenia, and a cousin, JoAnne
Earley of Xenia.
Services were held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at McColaugh Funeral Home,
Inc., 826 North Detroit Street, Xenia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greene Oaks Alzheimer’s
Unit or the Greene County Council on Aging.
Edward Hamilton
Edward S. Hamilton of Fairborn died Sunday, Jan. 6. He was 96. Edward
was born Oct. 9, 1911, in Preble County, the son of the late James H.
and Daisy L. (Stewart) Hamilton.
He was retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, after 32 years
as an electrician. He was a 50-year member of the Michael Finnell Masonic
Lodge and Rabonil’s of Fairborn.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1988; and by brothers
James Paul and Robert Hamilton.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hamilton, of Fairborn; his son
and his spouse, Edward L. and Maury Hamilton of Kettering; grandchildren
Mary Hamilton and Patrick Hamilton; brothers Roy A. Hamilton of Vandalia
and George W. Hamilton of Richmond, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Margaret
J. Hamilton of Richmond, Ind.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Burcham Funeral
Home, Fairborn, with burial following at Byron Cemetery. The family
requests contributions be made in Edward’s memory to either Hospice
of Dayton or Friends Care Center.
