The spirit of unity at the Kwanzaa celebration at the Bryan Community Center on Wednesday, Dec. 26, moved the 150 or so participants to their feet to clap and sway to the music of Eric Baba Goldsmith and the Hands That Beat the Drum. Therese Greene and Nan Harshaw (top) followed the lead of the Dancing Feet of Africa dancers, while Dimitri Wallace (below left) flung himself to the floor with a flourish and Arielle Johnson showed off her frilly red and black Flamenco dress. Dancing Feet dancers Renée McClendon and Yvonne Muhammad (bottom) performed traditional African dances.
