YSHS basketball takes Emmanuel
The Yellow Springs Bulldog boys basketball team opened its season
with a 78–60 win at home over Emmanuel Christian on Friday, Nov.
23. Yellow Springs jumped out to a 20–4 lead in the first quarter
and never trailed after that.
Ryan Newsome was the lead scorer with 22 points and seven rebounds. Kilan
Brown had 18 points, four rebounds and four assists. Kevin Sikes-Gilbert
was next in the scoring column with 15 points and six steals. Ian Wimberly
netted nine points, two steals and five assists. Newcomer Jeremiah Peacock
added 6 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Every player on the team was able to contribute to a
well-deserved win, according to Coach Brad Newsome.
