OBITUARIES
Robert E. Brown
Robert Ellsworth Brown passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Cypress
Pointe Rehab and Health Care, Wilmington, N.C. He was 88. Bob was born
June 21, 1919, in Yellow Springs, the son of Howard and Mary Brown.
Bob graduated from Bryan High School and served four and one-half
years in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during World War II.
Bob and his wife, Peg, met at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.,
after returning to the states following their overseas service. They
began their married life in Dayton.
Bob was a refrigeration and testing engineer with Frigidaire, Dayton;
the Singer Company, Anderson, S.C.; Beverage Aire, Spartanburg, S.C.;
and Synder Company, Wilmington, N.C. He was a member of Trinity United
Methodist Church. He enjoyed automobiles and all things mechanical,
and was also an avid bridge player.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Margaret H.
(Peggy) Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Barbara Wells of O’Fallon,
Ill., and Jane B. Brown of Nags Head, N.C.; and a son, Martin M. Brown,
of Hillsborough, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 29, at Trinity UMC, Family
Life Center, with interment to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Lillian I. Stevens
Lillian I. Stevens of Fairborn died Friday, Nov. 2, in Greene Memorial
Hospital. She was 88.
She was born March 6, 1919, in Hillsboro, Ohio, the daughter of the
late Henry and Opal (Martin) Blackmore. Lillian was a member of the
First Church of Christ in Fairborn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister,
Leola Cargell; and a brother, Dale Blackmore.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harry; three children
and their spouses, Linda and Patrick Peifer of Yellow Springs, Tamara
Morrissette of Hilliard, Ohio, and Debra and Raymond Stange of Henry,
Ill.; eight grandchildren, John and Jeanna Peifer, Alex Peifer, Christopher
and Aida Peifer, Morgen Morrissette, Steven Morrissette, Meredith Morrissette,
Ryan and Cindy Stange, Ross Stange; two great-grandchildren, Emma Peifer
and Elle Peifer; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Charlene Blackmore
of Fairborn; another sister-in-law, Shirley Blackmore; as well as numerous
nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at noon, in the Belton-Stroup
Funeral Home, Fairborn, with interment following in the Fairfield Cemetery.
John Kitzmiller
John Anthony Parker Kitzmiller died suddenly on Oct. 31.
John was a 1979 graduate of Cedarville High School. He loved to shoot
billiards, and twice a week donated plasma.
He was preceded in death by his dad, James Arthur Kitzmiller Sr.;
and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Parker, and Arthur L. and
Margaret N. Kitzmiller
John is survived by his mother, Elizabeth T. Kitzmiller and his sister,
Theresa A. Kitzmiller, both of which he made his home with; three brothers
and sisters-in-law, James Arthur Jr. and Johnetta D. of Yellow Springs;
Arthur and Colleen M. Leon of Milford, Del., and R. Andrew and Joy M.
Kitzmiller of Cedarville; nephews, Christopher, Kyle, Jamie and Zachariah;
nieces: Stephanie Frater, Annie, Mary and Georgia; and great-niece BriAnna
D. Frater.
Services were held on Monday, Nov. 5, at the Jackson Lytle Williams
Funeral Home, in Yellow Springs, followed by burial in the Clifton Cemetery.
