OBITUARIES

Rhodella Adkins

Rhodella C. Adkins of Fairborn died Saturday, Aug. 25, at Friends Care Community. She was 70.

She was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Dayton, the daughter of Leroy G. and Lucille (Beaty) Snider. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Jane L. (Snider) Young.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cort Adkins; son, Tim Adkins of Carmel, Ind.; son, Don, and daughter-in-law, Kate, and four beloved grandsons, Michael, Jacob, Noah and Luke Adkins of Fairborn, Ohio; brothers- and -sisters-in-law Dallas and Rosemary Adkins of Dayton, and Ven and Ellen Adkins and mother-in-law, Ada Adkins of Yellow Springs; and brother, James Snider of Kettering, Ohio.

Rhodella was a 1954 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, and was last employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center.

The family would like to thank, among others, Friends Care Community for their dedicated care during Rhodella’s illness, and special friends David and Willene Horton and James and Teen Glidewell for their longtime friendship and caring over the years.

Rhodella donated herself to the Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University School of Medicine. A celebration of Rhodella’s life will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.

Jane Morgan memorial planned for October

A memorial service for Jane Morgan will be held at the Glen Helen Building, 405 Corry Street, on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.

Morgan died at her home in the Vale community, just south of Yellow Springs, among family and friends on Wednesday, Aug. 15, eight weeks after her 89th birthday.
