OBITUARIES
Alice M. Hall
Alice M. Hall, formerly of Yellow Springs, died on Friday, July 6, at
Abbey Nursing Center in Warren, Mich. She was 81.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Hall, and daughter
Betsy Williams.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Bryant of Sterling Heights,
Mich.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of friends
and relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Central Chapel AME Church, 411 South
High Street, Yellow Springs, on Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m. with Reverend
Dr. John E. Freeman officiating.
Helen Nickell Breckner
Helen Nickell Breckner of Yellow Springs died July
5. She was 76.
Helen was born April 26, 1931, to Ben and Gertrude Nickell. She was a
graduate of both Bryan High School and Wright State University, and she
served her country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Helen loved to devote herself to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Philip; and brother, Herbert
Nickell.
She is survived by her husband, John; son, Eric; grandsons, Drew Breckner
and Mike Jensen; sister-in-law, Jean Nickell; nephew, David Nickell; and
niece, Linda Richmond.
A private ceremony for the family was held followed by interment at Glen
Forest Cemetery.
