Bulldog sports round up

Lady ’Dogs finish 2nd in MBC
The Lady Bulldog basketball team played an inspired game against the Miami Valley School on Friday, Feb. 16, winning 34–27 to claim sole possession of second place in the Metro Buckeye Conference. And in the first round of the Div. IV sectional tournament, early foul trouble and cold shooting contributed to the Bulldogs 37–23 defeat at the hands of Cedarville on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Against Miami Valley, the Lady ’Dogs played tough team defense to run their conference record to 10–4. A balanced scoring attack was led by Ashanta’ Robinson with 11 points, followed by Carly Bailey with 8, Jessica Kellar with 6, Alicia Lucas with 5, and Ryder Comstock with 4.

Against Cedarville, the Lady ’Dogs were ice cold from the beginning of the game, finding themselves trailing 14–6 at the half. Robinson again led the ’Dogs with 7 points, Bailey contributed 6, and Kellar and Lucas had 5 each in a disappointing end to a good season.

Robinson earned first team all-conference honors, and Bailey was voted to the second team. Bailey also shared the MBC Coaches’ Award with Lasena Badger of the Miami Valley School. Kristen Foster was named to the Sportsmanship team.
