OBITUARIES

Ruth Pitstick
Ruth Mae Pitstick of Enon died Sunday, Feb. 4, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was 80.

She was born May 14, 1926, in Hillsdale, Mich., the daughter of Don N. and Ada Church Ehlinger. She was a longtime member of St. Brigid Church in Xenia and former member of St. Paul Church in Yellow Springs, member of Catholic Ladies of Columbia, named the 2006 Miami Valley Dayton Daily News Mother of the Year, Pitstick Girls Chapter of the Red Hat Society, and volunteered many hours making perinatal loss comforters for women at Miami Valley Hospital Birthing Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Pitstick, April 28, 1968; two children, Christopher Frederick-Pitstick and Elizabeth Mae Hess; three sisters, Helen Smith, Donna Ehlinger and Roberta Dufore and three brothers, Frank Ehlinger, Robert Ehlinger and Don Ehlinger.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Celia and Larry Clifton of Xenia, John and Joan Pitstick of Fairborn, Janie and Jim Langan of Xenia, Mary and Dave Jordan of Xenia, Tony and Judy Pitstick of Enon, Roy Hess of Xenia, Ted and Sue -Pitstick of Wallace, N.C., Bob and Deb Pitstick of Enon, Helen and Alan Liming of Enon, Phillip and Melanie Pitstick of Cedarville, Kathy and Mark Snell of Deland, Fla, Ada Pitstick and Sandy Prokop of Chardon, Ohio, Barb Pitstick and Lorrie -Kubaszewski of Enon, and Ed and Edie Pitstick of Minneola, Fla.; many grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ellen Schultz and Betty Jean and Arthur Walp, all of Springfield.

Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, Feb. 8, at St. Brigid Church, Xenia, with burial in St. Brigid Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity in Ruth’s name or to Maryknoll Sisters, St. Jude Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., Elderly United, Yellow Springs, or the Red Cross.
