Yellow Springs beat Metro Buckeye Conference foe Middletown Christian 6–1 on Tuesday, Sept. 5, and slid by Southeastern 2–1 on Thursday, Sept. 7, before crushing Stivers 10–1 on Saturday, Sept. 9. Against Southeastern, Silvert-Noftle got the Bulldogs on the board early in the game, with an assist from Danielle Doubt. But Ferguson soon took possession of the ball and hit a low, hard pass to Kyle -Buchwalder, who scored to put Yellow Springs back on top. Against Southeastern, James Butler scored five goals, and single goals were scored by Abeo Miller, Brock -Gunder-Kline, Onfroy-Curley, Asa -Casenhiser, and -Buchwalder. Zeke Hardman picked up three assists for Yellow Springs. The Bulldogs opened their MBC campaign against Ridgeville scoring first on a head goal by Miller, who received a corner cross from Ferguson. Defensive miscommunication in the back line caused Yellow Springs to score on itself early in the second half, but the Bulldogs were soon out in front again after Butler knocked in a penalty kick. Ridgeville kicked in a loose ball to close out the game’s scoring.
