Archie Richards

Archie O. Richards of Springfield, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. He was 65.

He was born July 29, 1940, near Rodney, in Gallia County, Ohio, the son of Lester H. and Lula M. (Shaver) Richards. He was a graduate of Greeneview High School and was associated with agribusiness for many years and most recently with Handy Man Hardware in Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Raymond, Joseph and Eddie Thomas Richards.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Lovett) Richards, whom he married in 1967; children and their spouses, Thomas and Lisa Richards, and Angela and David Resener; grandchildren, Paul and Ian Richards, -Matthew Resener and Katherine Resener; and a brother, John Richards.

Friends may join the family at a memorial service on Friday, Feb. 17, 11 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Missionary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 West Main Street, Springfield 45505 or Ohio Masonic Home, 2655 West National Road, Springfield 45505.
