Ronald T. Hollingshead

Ronald T. Hollingshead of Fairborn died Friday, Jan. 6, in Kettering Memorial Hospital. He was 78.

He was born April 8, 1927, in Wellston, Ohio, the son of Samuel and Ethel (Shelton) Hollingshead. He was employed as a finisher with Morris Bean & Company, from which he retired after 27 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lance Corporal Bruce Alan Hollingshead, on Oct. 23, 1983, in the Beirut bombing; four brothers, Claire, Adrian, Gene and Donald Lee “Ike” Hollingshead.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ceola; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Eddie “Hank” Bennett of Fairborn; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerry and Phyllis Hollingshead of Enon; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hollingshead and Mary Hollingshead, both of Fairborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home in Fairborn. Burial was in Byron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Byron Church, 3230 Trebein Road, Fairborn 45324.
