OBITUARIES
Marjean Bradds
Marjean D. Bullen Bradds of Xenia died Saturday, Oct.
1, at Heartland of Centerville, following an extended illness. She was
83.
She was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Port William, the daughter
of Lloyd and Cleo (Beam) DeVoe.
Marjean was a 1940 graduate of Cedarville High School,
secretary at Bob Evans Farms in Xenia for 18 years, member of the Union
United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, ABWA (Greene Valley),
auxillary at Otterbein Home in Lebanon, Golden Age Senior Citizens and
Quilters’ Guild. She was an avid bowler, gardener and card player.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband
of 45 years, Robert W. Bullen, who died in 1987, and husband, Eugene H.
Bradds, in 2000; sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Robert VanTress;
brothers Dan and Donald DeVoe, and sisters-in-law, Mildred Thomas and
Helen DeVoe.
She is survived by her children and their spouses,
Norma Jean and Clifton Beegle of Xenia, Becky Powell of Agoura, Calif.,
Roger and Linda Bullen of Ft. Myers, Fla., Kieth and Jean Bullen of Yellow
Springs, James and Sheryl Bullen of Xenia and Daniel Bullen of Xenia;
15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; stepchildren and their spouses,
Arlene and Ron Woods and Neil and Debbie Braddes; a sister-in-law, Ruth
DeVoe of Reynoldsburg; brothers-in-law and their wives, Richard and Barbara
Bullen of Xenia and Norman Thomas of Englewood; daughter-in-law and her
husband, Jenny and Larry Sagers of Xenia.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at McColaugh
Funeral Home in Xenia, with burial following in the Valley View Memorial
Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union United Methodist
Church in Xenia.
Janice Peterson
Janice A. (Dunevant) Peterson died Wednesday, Sept.
28. She was 88.
She was preceded in death by her son, Max Miller; husband,
Robert Peterson; and parents, Earl and Maud Dunevant.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, D.
Diane and Hank Myers; a grandson and his wife, Doug and Jan Myers; and
great-granddaughter, Amanda Myers.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Oct. 1, in Glen
Forest Cemetery. Jackson Lytle Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Yolie Mayne memorial service later this month
A memorial service for Yolie Mayne will be held Sunday,
Oct. 23, 1 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church.
Yolie died Sunday, Sept. 25, following a sudden decline
in her four-year fight with cancer. She was 79.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be
made to either the Glen Helen Association, American Civil Liberties Union
or Planned Parenthood.
