Fall Street Fair to take place Sat., Oct. 8

The Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the fall Street Fair on Saturday, Oct. 8, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Several downtown area streets will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m.: Xenia Avenue from Limestone to Corry; Walnut, from Limestone to Elm; Glen, from Kieth’s Alley to Xenia; Short Street; and Corry, from Xenia Avenue to Dayton Street.

The post office will be open during its regular Saturday hours but will be accessible only by foot. Normal mail delivery will be maintained.

Music will be performed from noon to 7 p.m. on the Mills Lawn School grounds, as follows:

Noon–1 p.m.: Rob Heiliger and the Ohio Corndaddies
1–2: Midnight Blue
2–3: Seefari
3–4: Noah Wotherspoon Band
4–5: Skeleton Crew
5–6: Magnolia Bolthead
6–7: Michael Kelsey

Surprise street performances, including drum circles and belly dancers, are also planned throughout the day. The Yellow Springs Arts Council will sponsor a mini-golf course, created by artists.

Apple Festival at Presbyterian Church

The First Presbyterian Church will host their annual Apple Festival during Street Fair, beginning at 11 a.m.

The festival will run until all the food is gone.

The church will serve apple crisp, cinnamon and vanilla ice cream, coffee and hot and cold cider.

Bake sale at Senior Center

The Yellow Springs Senior Center will hold a bake sale in conjunction with Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Senior Center.
