OBITUARIES

Leanna Perry

Leanna Perry of Yellow Springs died Saturday, Sept. 17, in Friends Care Community. She was 96.

She was born Feb. 17, 1909, in Yellow Springs, the daughter of Levi and Retta (Adams) Perry. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Central Chapel AME Church, where she was a stewardess.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Etta Belle Hamilton, Bessie Harris, Alice Pullen, Jenney Shorter and Mary Nelson; and her brothers, William, Lee Edward, Donald and Kingsley Perry.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and great-great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nephews.

Friends may call Friday, Sept. 23, at Central Chapel AME, after 9 a.m. Her family will be present from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Dr. John E. Freeman will officiate. Interment will follow in Glen Forest Cemetery. Porter-Qualls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
