Football team loses to Lockland
The YSHS football team fared better this year than last against
the tough Lockland Panthers, who shut out the Bulldogs early last season.
But the Panthers proved too tough last Friday night, spoiling the Bulldogs’
home opener, 35–19. The Bulldogs are now 1–1.
With the ’Dogs down 14–0 early in the second
half, Matt Hull gave the Bulldog fans some hope when he returned a kickoff
90 yards for a touchdown. But it was all the Bulldogs could muster, before
several minutes later, the Panthers scored another TD.
The Bulldogs’ Anthony Carter intercepted a Panther
pass with just a minute left in the second quarter, but YSHS could not
score before the half.
Hall rushed for 55 yards on 19 carries, while Carter

special teams accumulated 200 yards, 125 from Hall and 75 from Joey Bailey.
