OBITUARIES

Kenneth Howard

Kenneth E. Howard of Xenia died Thursday morning, June 30, at Hospitality Home East in Xenia where he had been a patient the past week. He was 84.

He was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Bowersville, the son of Delbert and Jessie (McClure) Howard.

Ken served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired as the meat department manager at Kennedy’s in Xenia. He previously had worked at the Luttrell IGA in Yellow Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mitzi (Yeakley) Howard, on March 5, 1996.

He is survived by his children, Carol (Bob) Miller of Xenia, Sherry (Michael) Wiese of Beavercreek, Rich (Debbie) Howard of Sabina and Steven Howard of Xenia; grandchildren, Melanie and Jeff Sherby, Michelle and David Sollenberger, Michael Miller, Tami and David Paquette, Brad and Marcy Carey and Stephanie and Justin Howard; great-grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Chelsea, Chandler and Cheney Sollenberger, Kali and Kelson Carey and Zack and Audrey Paquette; his best friend and beloved dog, Mindy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 2, at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
