Some stops during Art Stroll

Art Stroll will take place Friday, June 17, from 6 to 10 p.m., at various locations around town. The following is a list of some of the participants:

“would you, could you” In A Frame: An opening reception will take place from 6 to 10 for a new miniature art show by local and area artists.

Yoga Springs Studio: The children’s yoga class taught by Gail Lichtenfels will give a short performance, “Mermaids on the Mat,” at 6:30 p.m. The studio will also host an opening reception for the students’ yoga-inspired art, and they will have a chance to talk about it over refreshments from 6 to 9.

Sam & Eddie’s Open Books Gallery: Store owner Eddie Eckenrode will host an opening reception for his recent works from 7 to 9. Works include two- and three-dimensional acrylic pieces on wood surfaces and sculptures.

Bryan Community Center Gallery: Landscape and nature photos by Dayton artist Richard Baumer will be on display from 6 to 9. The exhibit features 40 photos from Glen Helen and John Bryan State Park as well as the Smokey Mountains, Colorado, Washington and Canada.

212 South Winter Street: Theresa Thinnes, owner of Dancing Light Photo-graphy, will present new portraits and abstract photographs in her new studio location. Refreshments will be served from 6 to 9.

Winds Cafe: Mogwave (Monthly Group of Women Artists Viewing and Evaluating) presents the exhibit “Mogwave Goes Eclectic” through July 3. Participating artists are Anna Arbor, Corrine Bayraktaroglu, Sue Brezine, Rosie Huart, Jan Jackson, Mary Peirano, Margrit Tydings-Petrie and Sherraid Scott.

Epic Books: A private collection of oils and mixed media featuring Michigan artist Robin Jennings will be displayed at the bookstore. Refreshments will be served from 6 to 9 p.m.

Julia Etta’s Trunk: The clothing store will host skin care professional Angela LaFiers, owner of Canyon Sun Skin Care in Dayton, who will demonstrate nontoxic skin care products for both men and women from 6 to 10.

The Emporium: Around the corner and down the walkway in the old Organic Grocery space, The Emporium will host a wine tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. Art strollers are welcome to drop in for appetizers and an assortment of reds, whites and rosés from all over the world. Tastings cost $4 for four two-ounce glasses of wine.

Other local businesses will also be open during Art Stroll.
