Steve May, foreground, with the help of Jim Hammond, adjusted a pulley system that installed two sill plates in Grinnell Mill on Monday. Constructed by C.A. Lakey Family Sawmill in Daleville, Ind., the plates are 18 feet long and weigh 900 pounds. Hammond and May will install six more pieces, giving the mill a solid foundation.
