OBITUARIES

Nadine Stevenson

Nadine Stevenson of Shilloh, Ill., formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, April 23, in her residence. She was 44.

She was born Aug. 7, 1960, the daughter of the Beulah Lee Gee Stevenson and Roosevelt King of Dayton.

Nadine retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving more than 19 years. Her last assignment was in the computer technology field at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. She received a bachelor of arts degree from McKendree College while a resident of O’Fallon, Ill. She was a member of New Life Interdenominational Church of O’Fallon, where she sang in the choir and served with the Outreach and Drama Ministries. Dear to her heart were her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt King and Beulah Lee Gee Stevenson and her husband, Robert Stevenson.

She is survived by four sisters, Letha Renee Payne of Dayton, Sharon Beavers of Trotwood, Pamela West of Alaska and Theresa Knox of Alexandria, Va.; aunts and uncles, Barrett and Robert Gee of Springfield, Anna and Harold Blackwell of Yellow Springs, and Jacqueline Gee Roberts of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Nikki Callahan of Springfield and Joshua Payne.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 30, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, with burial following in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Irwin Inman memorial

A memorial service for Irwin Inman will be held Saturday, May 7, 2 p.m., in the Glen Helen Building.

Inman died on Saturday, March 12, following a brief illness. He was 87. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch College, Office of Development, 795 Livermore Street.

Jay Sarnow memorial

An informal memorial service for Jason “Jay” Sarnow will be held Saturday, May 7, at noon, at 502 West South College Street.

Sarnow died on Friday, April 15, at Friends Care Community. He was 78.
