OBITUARIES

Robert N. Dawson

Robert N. Dawson of Springfield died Friday, Dec. 3, in Villa of Springfield. He was 77.

He was born in Washington Court House on March 14, 1927, the son of Irvin and Flora Bell (Noble) Dawson. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operation in Germany. He also served in the Ohio Air National Guard from 1950 to 1967. He was employed as a construction analyst for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Southgate Baptist Church, former member of Gideons International and member of the Elderly United of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty J. Dawson, on July 5, 2001; brother, Ralph N. Dawson; and sister, Erma M. Hidy.

He is survived by his wife, Norma L. Dawson; children and their spouses, Neil E. Dawson and Deann Ward of Yellow Springs, Deborah A. and Paul Hayes of Las Vegas; stepdaughters and spouses, Sharon and Roy Landrum and Shirley and Bucky Johnson, all of Springfield; and granddaughters, Kimberly Sue Hayes of Elon, N.C., and Krystal Lynn Hayes of Columbus; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 6, at the Jackson Lytle & Williams Funeral Home in Springfield, with burial following in South Solon Cemetery. Juanita Morris

Juanita Morris of South Charleston died Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Community Hospital. She was 81.

She was born March 29, 1923, in Cedarville, the daughter of Charles W. and Jennie J. (Johnson) Hall. Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church in Yellow Springs and a receptionist for Pilgrim State Hospital in New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome Morris; and a sister, Lula Mae Hall.

She is survived by three sisters, Grace E. Johnson of Selma and Estella H. Jones and Reva M. Douglas, both of Yellow Springs; brother, Charles W. Hall of South Charleston; a number of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, at the First Baptist Church. Porter-Qualls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wayne Purdin

Wayne Purdin, of Uncasville, Conn., died Sunday, Dec. 4, at the William H. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn. He was 81.

He was born in Adams County, the son of the late Herbert and Ima Purdin of Bowersville, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy and was retired from General Dynamics Corp.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Purdin of Yellow Springs and Joe Purdin of Cedarville, sister, Eileen Roberts of Jamestown, and nephew Brent Purdin of Yellow Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; son, Wayne Jr.; daughters, Deanna, Donna and Christine; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two brothers and four sisters.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 10, in Norwich.
