YSHS football team falls to Troy

The YSHS football team lost its final game of the season Friday night, 41–14, to a tough Troy Christian team that advanced to the playoffs. The Bulldogs finished the year 1–9.

The ’Dogs scored in the second half on a one-yard run by Matt Hull. Later, the Bulldogs scored another touchdown on a seven-yard pass from Jake Fulton to Cody Johnson. Scott Keyes kicked for both extra points.

Hull rushed 22 times for 152 yards, Johnson caught 3 passes for 31 yards, and Kyle Truitt caught 3 passes for 26 yards. Fulton was 7 for 13 for 47 yards, with a touchdown and 2 interceptions. The defense was led by Aaron Willis, who had 9 tackles, Martin Bakari with 8 and Jerrico Stubblefield with 5.

The seniors honored at the game were Fulton, Johnson, Truitt, Bakari, Miguel Visbal, Keyes, Cord Andrews and Alex Wambaugh. These seniors were true leaders and will be missed by coach Jerome Crosswhite and the team.

YSHS fall sports awards

Yellow Springs High School has tentatively scheduled its fall sports awards ceremony for Tuesday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m., in the school gym.

However, if the boys varsity soccer team advances beyond regionals in Division III tournament play, the awards ceremony will be held Monday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m., in the gym.

KTC basketball signup

KTC (Kenton Trace Conference) basketball starts Saturday, Nov. 6, with a registration session at the Bryan Community Center gym from noon to 1 p.m. Coaches will be present to meet players and parents.

KTC consists of eight towns, each with girls and boys teams from fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

Tryout clinics start the week of Nov. 8, practice season starts in December and games are played on Saturdays and Sundays in January and February. For more information, call Rich Miller, 767-2049.
