The farmer

During a busy day at the
Farmers’ Market Saturday, Elliot Wiggins, 3, ate several peaches
from Jackson’s Farm Market, near Xenia, while his mother, Karen
Crist, sold raffle tickets for a Community Children’s Center
fundraiser. (Details on the raffle are on Page 10.) Zoë Battle
helped her grandmother Esther Battle pick red potatoes from Peach
Mountain Organic Farm of Spring Valley. Zoë, who lives in Brunswick,
Me., was visiting her grandparents here. Onions were among the produce
Springwater Farm of South Charleston was selling. |
