OBITUARIES
Mary Isabelle Impson
Mary Isabelle Impson of Fairborn died Sunday,
June 27, at Friends Care Community. She was 92.
Born on Oct. 22, 1911, in Greene County, she was the
daughter of John Bert and Stella (Harner) Bryan.
Mary was married to Alvia Impson on Oct. 5, 1927, and
was a member of God’s Missionary Church in Fairborn.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents;
two sons, Don W. Impson and Ronald D. Impson; and a grandson, Mark Impson.
She is survived by her children, Carol Snyder of Fairborn,
Leon and Maxine Impson of Fairborn, Roger and Jean Impson of Indiana and
Dale and Carol Impson of Sarasota, Fla; two sisters, Margurite Murphy
and Cora Martin, both of Michigan; and 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren
and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 30, at
Fairfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton,
P.O. Box 3509, Dayton 45401 or to Friends Care Community, 150 East Herman
Street.
Charles W. Oates
Charles W. Oates of Jamestown died Saturday, June 26,
at Community Hospital. He was 77.
Born in Clifton on Dec. 8, 1926, he was the son of
Archie and Daisy (Jones) Hart.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. He
was a retired employee of the Conrail Railroad and a member of the Southside
Church of God in Xenia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Shingledecker)
Hart; one daughter, Joanna Crews; and three brothers, Leo, Kenneth and
Norman Hart.
He is survived by his children, Cindy and Larry Cox
of Xenia, Robert and Faith Hart of Xenia and Susan and Gary Parks of Jamestown;
nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; and one brother, Robert Hart
of West Jefferson.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience
of the family. Ingling Williams Funeral Home in Cedarville is in charge
of arrangements.
Russell B. Winget
Russell B. Winget of Springfield died Friday evening,
June 25, in the Friends Care Community, where he had been a resident for
a year and a half. He was 90.
Born in Springfield, on Sept. 30, 1913, he was the
son of Ceola and Virginia (Baird) Winget.
He graduated from Springfield High School in 1931 and
served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during World War II in
Germany. He retired from the Schaefer’s Bakery sales department
after 30 years of service. Later, he worked as a security guard in a retirement
village in Florida, a job he loved because he could serve others, his
greatest theme in life. He was a member of the Bahá’í
faith for 40 years and was chaplain of Amvets.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother,
the Rev. Eldon B. Winget; and a son, Kurt Winget.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alice (Moul)
Winget; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and James Oost of Enon; and
seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 30,
in Enon Cemetery, with a memorial service following in St. Andrew Lutheran
Church in Enon. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends Care Community,
