OBITUARIES

Edgar B. Jordan

Edgar B. Jordan, of Yellow Springs, formerly of Columbus, passed away April 20, in Community Hospital, Springfield. He was 80.

Edgar was born March 24, 1927, to Leonard and Hazel Jordan in Columbus, Ohio. He was married to Charlotte A. Adams on April 24, 1953, in the Central Chapel AME of Yellow Springs. Edgar served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, retired from Antioch College in 1986, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Yellow Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pastor Ellsworth Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte A. Jordan; two children and their spouses, L. Alan and Ellen Smith Jordan of Vermont, and Robin and Anthony Jordan-Henry of Ohio; grandchildren, Anya Smith-Jordan and Anisha Henry; two great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Martha Jordan; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Bernice Jordan, Isabel and Cecil Newman, Naomi McKee, Evelyn and David Hill; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m., in the First Baptist Church, 600 Dayton Street, Yellow Springs, with Pastor Vurn O. Mullins officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Forest Cemetery. The family is being served by the Jackson Lytle Wil-liams Funeral Home, Yellow Springs.

Jo Ann Weiher

Jo Ann Weiher (Kluemper) of Navarre, Fla., passed away after a short illness at Sacred Heart Hospital on Friday, April 20.

Jo Ann was born in Cincinnati on Nov. 4, 1940, and attended Mt. Saint Joseph College and the University of Dayton in Ohio. An artist, her many paintings and drawings will be treasured by her family and friends. She was a teacher in Yellow Springs for 18 years, and a village resident for 21 years before retiring to Florida.

An active member of the Navarre United Methodist church and a bridge player, Jo Ann loved her community of friends and card players in Navarre.

She is survived by her husband, James Weiher, in Navarre; son and daughters-in-law, Eddie Gantner and Sun Hee in Hawaii, Jerome and Jennifer Gantner in Fairborn, Ohio, and Aaron and Michelle Grolla of Folsom, Calif., and daughter and son-in-law, Angie Birchfield and Jerry in Dayton, Ohio; She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Hazel and John Brebberman in North Bend, Ohio.

Jo Ann was a devoted grandmother, and will be sadly missed by her 13 beloved grandchildren, JJ, Rebekah, Jessica, Ryan, and Emily Birchfield, Tony, Andrew, and Jack Gantner, Amanda and Brandon Grolla, and Bruce and Brandi Whitelow. Her companion dog, Riley, will miss her as well.

Services were held at Navarre United Methodist on Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m. Another service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2 p.m., at Hillside Chapel, 3515 Shakertown Road, Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jo Ann’s memory may be sent to the Ecuadorian Mission, Navarre United Methodist Church, the Humane Society at PAWS, Ft. Walton Beach, or SICSA in Kettering, Ohio.

Douglas E. Trollinger

Douglas E. Trollinger of Yellow Springs, passed away Monday, April 16, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was 57.

He was born Sept. 25, 1949, in Springfield, the son of Marvin E. and Mary Lou (Williams) Trollinger.

Doug was a 1967 graduate of Yellow Springs High School, an Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and had been employed in shipping at the Yellow Springs Instrument Co. for the past 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, crafts, being a collector, photography and going on cruises.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife Kay (Hunkler) Trollinger, whom he married July 3, 1993; his father, Marvin, of Yellow Springs; children, Nancy Lyn Wallace, Springfield, Mark Douglas Trollinger, Chandler, Ariz., and Michael Lee Williams, Fairborn; grandchildren, Timothy William, Daniel Douglas and Dylan Wayne Wallace; sister and brother-in-law, Kathie Lyn and Harold Jackson of Springfield, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry Wayne and June Trollinger, Yellow Springs, and David Earl and Beverly Trollinger of Springfield; several nieces and nephews and a great-nephew.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 20, at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., Xenia, with burial following in the Byron Cemetery.

Ernest “Brad” Bradley

Ernest Junior “Brad” Bradley, of Xenia, passed away Friday, April 13, at the Greene Memorial Hospital. He was 78. He was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Eastern, Ky., the son of Ernest Sr. and Milgia (Turner) Bradley.

Brad served in the Air Force from 1948–1952 and at the National Security Agency until 1955. He retired in 2000 as head of purchasing from Standard Register Co. after 44 years service. He loved the outdoors and especially his fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dr. Bruce Bradley; brothers, Gary, Aaron and Paul Bradley.

He is survived by three sons and their spouses, Ernest Bradley III, Yellow Springs, Douglas Alan and Patricia Bradley, of Centerville, Rayner Earl Bradley, of Xenia; seven grandchildren: Andy, Lillian, Justin, Jessica, Hannah, Noah and Allison; three great grandchildren, a special friend, Dorothy Wiley, Beavercreek; brother, Keith Bradley, Florida; and the mother of his sons, Betty Caltagerone, Las Vegas, Nev.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., Xenia.
